The machine is a reference to the classic time machine from Dewlan and Pheonix’s Project Extinction Youtube series from 2020.

Final Thoughts
Whew! That was a lot to cover. Update 2.1 was a huge update, and with 19 out of the 50 mobs currently updated out of the current roster, Project Extinction has made great strides in it’s development in just 4 months since I brought this pack back from extinction. This is partly due to the amount of time I’ve had to work on it recently, as I have more free time during the summer, but I have also been super passionate about this project and plan on continuing development when my IRL life picks back up again.
I am very happy with the content in this update. I have put a lot of time and research into learning everything you can do with datapacks in vanilla Minecraft, so hopefully extending many of the complex features in 2.1 will become more streamlined in the future, and as such will take less time to implement.
What’s next?
Update 2.2 has a loose structure, and I’m still working out the details, but it will probably be a bit smaller than 2.1 🙂
While I can’t promise anything, my goals for 2.2 are along these lines:
~9 Mobs
-Advancements
-Extended Food System (+crop?)
~1 New Weapon
-Various Datapack Additions
